Thing 4-Flikr

As I began my exploration of Flickr, I found this great picture of Victoria Falls by Sabine Pfeifler. Ahh the memories.
Getting it transferred for loading was awkward and perhaps I am not doing it correctly. But I did achieve success. I think I am missing something because I could not find the "upload" option on Flickr.
I also successfully set up a flickr account for myself and added a few photos. I like the idea that photos would be saved off site for preservation. I am not all about making my personal photos public but this would be a great place to put business photos for sharing.

Thing 3

Set up a Blogline account and added a few feeds. Am curious to see how this works. Have heard about it for some time but just never "went there." I simply set up RSS feeds to my email account. This will work fine if I get a notice in my email that something new is there, but, like blogs, if I have to keep going in and checking, it is doomed to fail, just like my My Space account.

Thing2-beginnings

Just watched Stephen and agree that I need to practice regularly. For instance, I forgot my password and had to start over --again!

It will be interesting to see if this does change the way I interact with colleagues. We are so addicted to email and the exchange of information that way, I am anxious to see if other tools will change this. I still do not seem to have enough time to read blogs unless a particularly interesting entry is pointed out. Of course, when you ramble like this - who would bother to read!?

After reading the blyberg blog article, I have to wonder how this is a different movement? Libraries have always been early adopters of technological advances that facilitated improved services for patrons. It would seem that Library 2.0 is only an added method of interacting with customers and each other. It is a bit short on details of how it will improve interlibrary collaborative efforts. Libraries have continued to expand on partnerships and collaboration that began with ILL and grew. I would like to hear how this Library 2.0 "thing" is supposed to be implemented for even more efficiency.

Will this get to be fun?

I have an addictive personality. Is this blog a dangerous drug that will get me hooked? Once I get the hang of it, I can see it might just capture me.

Shout out for getting started in this new medium

It is exciting to try this new method of meeting and greeting
